What’s the best party you’ve ever been to? New Year’s Eve 2018, where your buddy did a backflip off the roof into an ice-cold swimming pool? Last year’s St. Patricks’ Day, where you drank a fifth of vodka then did that thing all your friends agreed to never talk about again?

No matter when or what it was, this small town’s got you beat.

The occasion? The opening of a new T.J. Maxx.

@lifewithlaken This is how excited we are when we get a @T.J.Maxx in a small Eastern Kentucky town. #tjmaxx #606 #easternky #easternkentucky #smalltown #halloweenshopwithme #halloweendecorhunting ♬ original sound - Life with Laken

As the video shows, the eastern Kentucky town of Paintsville (population: 4,280) went all out to launch their new T.J. Maxx. Cheerleaders? They’ve got ‘em. A live marching band? Yup, got that too. A goddamn fire truck that set its siren off when it came time to actually open the store? You *know* they had it.

Naturally, customers shared in the enthusiasm. A line formed outside the store prior to its opening, and once the doors were officially thrown open, the people poured in, each holding complimentary reusable bags and branded bottles of water. When they got inside, though, the shoppers were greeted by, you know, just a normal T.J. Maxx store. Still, it’s the fun that counts!

Commenters on TikTok longed to be part of the celebration. “I wanna be this excited about something,” wrote one user. “This should be the standard for every opening of tj maxx,” added another.

Why stop at T.J. Maxx? Let’s make every new store opening a party. Pass it into law: If you’re going to be the 15th place in the neighborhood selling acai bowls, you should at least have to hire a DJ.
